Write a Story about a Rope, a Red Hat and a Hollow Tree Trunk
This composition was written in primary 5 for my english tuition, and reflects my love of Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys at that time. Enjoy!
Tom looked down from the tree-top and grinned. His brother was still looking around the park for him. Tom seriously doubted that the tree-top as a hiding place would cross his brother's mind. However, the tree was uncomfortable and Tom didnt want to play hide-and-seek anymore. Sticking his head out of the tree, he yelled, "John! I'm here!"
John looked in the direction of the shout and scowled. Hiding in the tree was cheating! Tom stuck out his tongue. He was about to climb down the tree when he spotted a rope tied in a kot around a branch, which led to a hole in the trunk covered by leaves and branches. Curious, he pulled at the almost hidden rope and a red hat emerged out of the hole. At first, Tom was very disappointed. He was about to throw it away when he noticed some writing in the fold of the hat. Just then, John yelled, "Come down, you cheater!" Tom immediately climbed down the tree and told his brother what he had found. Both of them ferlt very excited when Tom read out the words in the hat:
Maria:
On a summer's night dig at the twin of the swinging hat. Our love token as well as my heart is there.

When this story is finished, Note: This was written when I was very young, can any of you spot 2 flaws in this story?
